David Messinger has served as Chief Marketing Officer of Activision Blizzard since August 2019. In this role, Messinger leads the global marketing function across the company, partnering closely with business unit leads and commercial teams to create a comprehensive, integrated marketing strategy that amplifies the company’s powerful narrative of creating a spirit of fun, competition, and community for its hundreds of millions of fans around the world.


Prior to joining Activision Blizzard, David was the Co-Head of CAA Marketing, a division of Creative Artists Agency. In this role, Messinger helped lead a practice that developed marketing strategies and award-winning original content to leverage the power of entertainment on behalf of blue-chip corporate clients.  


Prior to joining CAA, David worked at IAC where he led the consumer marketing efforts for Ticketmaster. Before his tenure at Ticketmaster, he worked at The Walt Disney Company in Corporate Alliances and Corporate Brand Management. David began his marketing career at marketing agency Leo Burnett Company.


David serves on the board of the American Advertising Federation and The Center for Early Education. He is also on the executive committee for the Advertising Hall of Fame and the Advertising Hall of Achievement. 


David holds a BA degree in English and a certificate in film and video from Duke University and has been recognized on Advertising Age’s Creativity 50 list.
